Participant Reflections

“One of the best trips I have taken because it combined my favourite things – making music, spending time on the ocean, and mingling with the locals.” — Marjorie

Artistic Director

Roland Graham

Roland Graham is a Canadian conductor, educator, and cultural producer whose work focuses on creating meaningful musical experiences that bring people together across communities, cultures, and countries.

As founder and artistic director of Nicaragua International Choral Workshops, he combines artistic excellence with cultural exchange, travel, and community engagement to create experiences that extend beyond the concert stage. His approach emphasizes collaboration, connection, and the belief that music can foster deeper understanding between people from different backgrounds.

NICW was created from a desire to offer a different kind of choral experience—one that balances high-quality musical preparation with exploration, hospitality, and authentic cultural exchange. Through shared music-making and travel, participants are invited to develop both artistically and personally while forming lasting international connections.
